I bought this text after attending lectures on `Applied Microeconomics', as part of the Bath MBA programme from Tim Wakeley - co-author. The book sets out the fundamental principles of economics with clear definitions and worked example of how they apply to simple business scenarios. As my first introduction to the subject of economics, with an essay to write on the topic, I found the text a useful reference to check my understanding of the theories given it's breadth of coverage and quick accessibility of topics. Particularly useful, in the context of essay writing, is the `appraisal' of each theory at the ends of the chapters, written from a `pluralist' rather than classic economic perspective, these critique the relevance of now long established theories in the context of the `modern world'.
