Synopsis
Something like 66 per cent of projects fail. For them to work, senior management has to commit to a certain amount of time and energy to providing input at key junctures. They also have to allow the project manager the freedom to run the project. In other words they need to delegate but not be divorced from their projects. Projects also need to be set up and organized in ways that enhance their chances of success and a proven method can provide this. This text aims to show senior managers how PRINCE2 can allow them to delegate yet retain control of the big picture, how projects can be initiated and run successfully without massive management cost or overhead. In short, it indicates how to get the desired benefits from business projects.
