Book Description

25 Jun 2010 1845284046 978-1845284046
'The past six weeks have been incredible: we've eaten frogs, drunk beer on the street with locals in Vietnam, ridden a motorcycle through rice fields, explored the ancient ruins of Angkor Wat, and scuba dived the crystal clear waters off several tropical islands. The next six months will be just as interesting and just as much fun.'

As incredible as this trip has been for Adam and Darcie, the most incredible part is that they haven't spent a penny on it. In fact, they have actually been making money. This will continue for the rest of their travels, for as long as they want.

Adam and Darcie have written this book with the explicit intention of changing your life so that - when you've learnt their strategies - you, too, can start living the life you've always wanted. It isn't a travel guide. Nor is it a 'get rich in your underwear' book. It is a guidebook on how to set up 'passive' income streams from websites and manage them while traveling the world.

Adam and Darcie's websites - which they refer to as 'systems' throughout the book - are the reason they are able to live the way they do. They bring in more passive income each month than they spend, which results in copious amounts of free time and a never-ending stream of income to travel with. In this book you will discover:

*how to set up your business so that it almost runs on auto pilot.

*how you should plan your travels around the world.

The book is divided into four parts:

1. Inspiration, where you'll find a listing of some of the most intriguing destinations around the world, along with photographs to get your imagination running.

2. Education contains comprehensive information on how to build an online business, from creating a product to accepting payments.

3. Perspiration, where you'll find step-by-step accounts of three very different online business models to finance your dreams. Pick one and get to work!

4. Embarkation covers the nuts and bolts of long-term travel abroad - all the information you'll need for your adventure.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good book!! 31 Aug 2010
Format:Paperback
I picked this book up in my high street bookstore. I was pretty sceptical about the title and the fact its such a thin book but I decided to have a quick flip through it.

At first I thought it was pretty tacky and just another book telling you how to make loads of $$$$ va PPC. But the more I read the more I began to like the book. In fact this book is 5 times thinner than the 4-hour work week yet 50x better written (Sorry Mr Ferris but your book is very badly written and although its content is good your "man in India" did a bad job of compiling the book for you). Also the pages are colour on every page, a big thumbs up!

Basically this is not a get rich book, this is a book about how 2 people managed to build a few automated websites that made them about £900 per month. Then when they had this income on autopilot they jetted off to live on the beach and work remotely making new sites. This is a step by step of how to do it.

My background is online marketing and I can tell you (as these guys do in the book) that making money this way can be hard no sorry I mean IS hard. But I personally know 4 people who have traveled the world and funded it via methods outlined in the book. It was a lot of hard work to create the sites but they run on virtual autopilot now they are up and running! The hard work is in learning the stuff and keeping on until you get those first few pounds.

A good book to read in the coffee shop and an even better book to read to make a few sites that can give you little streams of income automatically. Five stars!

I've really enjoyed reading this book. It has a no nonsense style to it, which I like. It will also cause your creative imagination to run riot. I didn't buy this book to expect to travel the world whilst I work - which is a lovely thought! Instead, I bought the book because it has genuine sensible comments about internet marketing. As a result of this book it has crystallised some new project ideas for me, which I expect to generate some passive income very shortly.

2.0 out of 5 stars Some useful info, but an arrogant style 3 Jan 2011
Format:Paperback
I had high hopes for this book - as someone who has just returned from a year long trip travelling around Asia, stopping at many of the places mentioned in the book, and as someone about to set up their own business, I thought I would be able to relate to the authors in both background and aims. The book is aimed more at people wanting to spent time and effort setting up a business that will thereafter almost 'run itself' giving you time to do what you want to do, like travel. Whilst this is not my intent, I thought it would have a lot of useful hints and tips.
In one degree, it is excellent. The factual content, the useful links and suggestions and the up to date tips on how to improve your website and advertising etc. are very good. I would have rated this a 4* on this alone.
However I personally have 2 gripes with this book. The first is the very arrogant style in which it is written - it grated continually as I read the book and reminded me of the stereotypical city-banker type of 'look at me, I make lots of money doing nothing'. This really surprised me, given the authors' seeming love of the SE Asia way of life (or maybe I just had much different experiences in Asia than they do!). If you like this kind of style, or can at least put up with it, the book may prove useful.
My second gripe, more minor, is I couldn't understand why half of the book is dedicated to setting up a business that can be run remotely, and the second half is about how to travel around Asia. If you want to do exactly what the authors have done, it is pretty likely that you will have got hold of a Rough Guide or Lonely Planet for the travelling part - it seemed strange to include the travelling information in here.
So, 4* if you like the arrogance, 2* if you can put up with it. On a positive note, the information in the book was obviously good enough to keep me reading to the end, despite my dislike of the authors' style growing as I read it!
