What I really like about this book is the link between key elements that make BI a success: business drivers and value creation through analytics, information usage and other best practices on organization and governance. Data aspects and technical manipulation are also covered as an enabler to better decisions and not as a stand alone discipline like too often in BI literature

Business intelligence made easy 6 Aug 2010
By Kristian L. Knudsen - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
I totally agree with Thomas H. Davenports review of the book. Finally somebody has
made Business Intelligence and Business Analytics simple and explainable. Finally
somebody has been able to explain what 'Information as a strategic asset' means.

The book explains that BI and BA is not about servers, tables and data warehouses.
It is about monitoring and innovating your business processes - easy and simple.

This book will be a CLASSIC for practitioners and students

Value for Money 10 Nov 2010
By Sudeep - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
Must say that this is 1 of the most interesting books on the vast subject like BI.
Especially in today's competitive world, books like these become extremely handy at times for business managers to take the most appropriate decision.

1 point I would like to highlight is that the author understands the language what is required for a non technical profile, giving non-technical profile more control on understanding and implementing effective Business solutions and of course explaining what you should try to achieve with BI rather than how you mess around with a server.

Managers/Fresher's/Students doing stats can definitely use this book, since it explains what they should live by for the rest of their careers.

personally this book gives me more that what I have invested.

Good overview of how BI and Data interact with business behavior 21 Sep 2010
By Jason T Walsh - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
Having worked with data and reporting for years, this book does a good job of tying some of the more technical sides of BI to the strategic role it can and does place in the organization. Tying information from many different sources to try and create a comprehensive view of where a company lies towards fulfilling it's objectives is a significant task as anyone who has tried to like it all together knows. I found the book helpful in bringing some of that information together and understanding how to improve our data foundation to support our data mining and strategic directions. It takes a good functional view of how to use information that's in front of you.
