I found this to be a very important reference regarding the Bushveldt Carbineers role in the Boar War and the "Breaker" Morant incident in particular.
The book starts out with an overview of pre-deployment events and moves on through measures taken to kill, capture, contain/manage the British/Boar conflict, in South Africa around the turn of 1900.
There after the reader is led through all key areas regarding the Morant incident, such as: death of Captain Hunt, the Court-Martial,the Visser case, the Eight Boars case, the German Missionary, the Executions, imprisonment, petition and eventual release of George Witton.
Anyone who has an interest in the Harry "Breaker" Morant incident should read this book. Anyone who has seen the film "Breaker Morant" staring the late Edward Woodward should do likewise.
This book, together with the film, offers the reader/viewer a vivid and memourable insight to soldiers under British command, and the British court Martial process at that time of British Empire history.
The film did not win "best supporting actor" and "ten film industry awards" by default.
