I bought this recently as well as the 119466. I also have the older version of Bushnell trophy cam 119456. I would say its a mix bag compared to these two cheaper cameras.

1. The fact it's got a black filter is great and the main reason I bought it. It allows for less disturbance of wildlife compared to the older version with red glare.

2. Day time video is far better on this model compared to my other cameras. The sound quality is also better than the 119456 camera.

3. The night time video when on its highest setting is the worst of all three cameras. It's a let down. So you might get a less disturbed animal (no red glare) but you don't really benefit from it as the quality is poor.

4. It's larger than the older cameras and it does stick out more. However due to the cost if these cameras I invested in the security case and python lock. This makes me confident in leaving it out.

5. The fact it has a viewer so you can check clips in the field is great. This is a big let down of the 119466 camera. You can also use the viewer to check your set up shot which is great as well. Atleast as an option. It's larger viewer than what the 119456 model has, although it doesn't really add anything more.

Overall I am very happy with the camera. It is just let down by its night time video/picture quality.

Huge disappointment 12 Oct 2011
By Gunnar B. Podolec - Published on Amazon.com

I had last year Trophy Cam and loved it. I bought this camera shortly after it came out. I thought the black LEDs would be nice as it wouldn't draw attention to itself when it goes off at night. Black LEDs worked fine. You cannot see any light coming from them without the aid of another device like night vision or a digital camera. I took some pictures in my home. The quality of the shots looked off but I thought it was light bouncing off the white walls or something like that. I move the camera out to the woods for about 2 weeks. I reviewed the shots to discover that the picture quality just sucks. I pulled the camera and was going to send it back to amazon but realized I had thrown out the plastic it came in (Amazon wants it back in it's original packaging). So I started working with customer service. I sent it to them as they instructed on their website and went as far as to print out the images and show them the quality compared to their last year's model (you should also note that this is at your expense to ship it back and you give them a check to send it back to you). Heard nothing for about a week after I saw they received it from UPS. I called and they gave me my repair number and said there was no status on it yet so they must not have started work on it yet. I kept checking and 2 days later I see that its status was "No work done. Returning to customer." I called customer service and he said they tested it and found no issues. He asked me how I had it setup and I told him it was facing south. He said that was fine. He saw that there were firmware updates and that I should use a Sandisk SD card. I ordered one of their fastest SD cards and installed the update as soon as I received the camera. (Why their tech people didn't do that while they had the camera is beyond me.) Tested the camera with the new SD card and update and it was just as crappy. Colors are washed out and it has light flairs even though it was a cloudy day. If you try to zoom in using a photo editor you can instantly see that its pixelated. Far from 8mp quality. Talked to customer service again and they sent me a return label and said they would send me a new camera. If this camera had better quality I will update this and give it more stars but that is in the hands of Bushnell now. Until I revise this I wouldn't buy this camera. ***Update*** New camera is here and all the same issue I listed above. Going to try to get my money back from them as this product is aweful

Better than the first generation! 3 Nov 2011

I was apprehensive after reading so many bad reviews about this product, but I bit the bullet anyway because Bushnell is reputable.

I received my package in good condition. The serial number indicated that my model did not require the software update as is listed in Bushnell website. The full HD videos are great! Night time shots included. My intent was to use it in semi dark area up to about 75 feet and they work great for my purposes,

Only drawback is that the longer the video clip, the longer it takes for the camera to capture a new video after being triggered. For instance if the camera is triggered at time 0, then it starts recording at time about 3s, until the length of 10s (which I have set). If the trigger is still there, the next video clip starts about 5-10 seconds later so there is a gap on between clips even though the trigger interval is set at less than that.

Overall the menu responds better, better quality vids and robust construction! Better than the 2010 model!

Works great! 17 Oct 2011

The pics and 1080p videos on this are very sharp. The exception would be nighttime video which is going to have some grain since there is only infrared light available. The color viewer is great for reviewing in the field, adjusting sensitivity (this is needed if wind is moving the trees), etc. Have not had any problems that the other reviewers have mentioned.
