As a mid handicapper (12) I reckon I need all the help I can get.
How can you expect to get the ball near the pin if you don't know how far the pin is?
Fairway markers and sprinkler heads are iffy at the best of times, so I went out and bought the Tour V2 Laser Rangefinder with Pinseeker.
It does work straight out the box as they say, I just popped the battery in, gave the focus ring half a turn and I was off.
First of all it does take a little bit of steadying to make sure you can hit the flag, but that's just practise. As mentioned by others just bracing your elbows against your sides helps and I would also suggest holding the button down a bit longer.
The case has a zip on it to pack it up tightly and a magnetic catch that just holds the cap on to stop it falling out, because you cant be bothered to fasten the zip everytime out on the course. Theres also a little clip to hang it from your bag or trolley.
This is such a simple device that I would expect it to either work or not.
From my brief experience with it it worked very well giving good accurate distances.
A golfing buddy who thinks these things are a waste of time was left to use the sprinkler head distances while I used the Bushnell. Some distances were up to 20 yards different. Thats between one and 2 clubs on my game.
Personally I'm not really worried about battery life - it runs to months not weeks and I carry a spare.
I have no hesitation giving the Bushnell V2 5 stars, and I would recommend it to anyone under 15 or 16 handicap.
I played nine last night with it and came off with 6 pars. The other holes weren't so impressive but a rangefinder wasn't so much the answer as canoe.
