The good: the neo+ watch works decently. Its usually accurate within a couple of yards or so, BUT in my first round with it, on my home course, it was off by a LOT on at least one reading (shot was 140, per laser to a center flag, about what I thought - this thing said 161 to center.) I dunno if that's a course map error, or something more systematic, but its not even my primary problem with this item.
They hide all the bad stuff inside the box.
One: you have to pay them ten bucks to make a warranty claim, after you pay to mail the item to them. Not exactly an incentive for them to build quality in.
Two: You are required to sync the watch to them online, or it wont keep working. But to do that you are required to give all your personal info to an outfit called igolf, and register with them. And to register with them you have to agree that they can do whatever they want with your personal data!!!!
Three: The directions for syncing the watch to them are poor, and require you to download and install multiple programs with no digital signature.
Four: No electric outlet plug in charger included, just a usb cord for your pc.
In my book, all of that makes Bushnell sneaky and obnoxious. Also not thrilled that the watch can't get the time right despite a setting that supposedly detects your time zone, but that's the least of my concerns. (It can be overridden manually to set the time, but for 200 bucks you'd think it could tell time without help.)
UPDATE AFTER PART OF A SEASON OF USE: It's almost always accurate, as near as I can tell. Once in a while it throws in an obvious error, which makes me wonder about how often there is a small error, but mostly I think its giving good distances (I'm a low single digit hcp in case you are wondering how well my own judgment of distance allows me to judge the device.) And battery life is better than I expected, it does not need to be charged every round - more like every other round with some to spare. So I have to admit I think its a pretty decent device and I use it all the time (I golf 3-5 times a week), even though the things above make me very unhappy with Bushnell.
UPDATE AFTER FULL SEASON: Junk. It now picks a yardage as soon as I stop moving but if I walk 15 yards to the ball it won't refresh and update, so I usually get wrong distances if I stop moving before I get to the ball. Their biggest competitor's watch works beautifully , even if it has to be charged more often it still easily gets thru a long round. Borrowed one that was a year old for a few rounds, gonna buy one, and use this one for a skeet target.
