4.0 out of 5 stars Purchase of Bushnell Neo+ 17 Aug 2013
Colour Name:White|Verified Purchase
Purchased as a present for my wife to give distance information. Top name for this kind of product and advertised a longer battery return before charging versus the Garmin similar product. Also made a big sales pitch with relation to having 25,000 Courses. Pricing was acceptable and delivery was on time. There are two courses in Lahinch and the Castle Course was not available and had to be requested. I had checked beforehand and was aware of this but was surprised as this course is the 2nd course and has been 18 holes for thirty years. Response to this request was slow and after 10 days the Castle Course was made available and after some difficulty the download was done. Since 2006 we have two holes for the par 3 11th. on the Lahinch Old Course. The older hole is brought into play during Winter and this is on the database. However we play the new hole for eight months of the year and this is not available. Very stylish product and apart from the points mentioned my wife is pleased with the product.

4.0 out of 5 stars For the technically minded 22 Jun 2013
Colour Name:White|Verified Purchase
Great watch but better for a younger, more technical person. I found it took a while to work out how to use it but am happy with it now. The seller was very kind and helpful

This item was purchased as a gift for a relative. It malfunctioned just over 30 days after receipt and after attempting to contact the manufacturer I received a message asking me to phone an American phone number. Another attempt was made to contact the seller in UK but they have not responded to my message. I am aware of the 30 day returns policy but surely there should be an option to return defective merchandise of this nature in the second month of ownership. Very disappointed with the supplier and Amazon! This was an expensive purchase from an allegedly reputable brand and I expected better.

5.0 out of 5 stars so far so good 3 Jun 2012
By CKS - Published on Amazon.com
I was specifically looking for a golf gps watch to replace my old sky caddie sg2. No complaints about the sky caddie, except for the membership dues i've been paying for the last 10 years. I only had to replace the battery once, and the yardages seemed spot on. The idea of a golf gps watch seems like a good idea. No leaving it at the house or in the cart, it's always right there on your wrist. It came down to the garmin approach s1 or the new bushnell neo plus. The garmin had been around for a while and had great reviews. Only real complaints were with the battery life. The neo boasted much greater battery life and was also 50 bucks cheaper, but also new and untested by the public(no reviews). I see there has already been one review and not such a good one. So here's my take. The watch arrived ready to go, right out of the box, as advertised. Upon arriving at my course, the gps locked on my course within a few minutes, advanced to the next hole as advertised, and the yardages seemed equivalent to my sky caddie. And at the end of the round (3.5 hours), i still have a full charge for next time. So all in all, I couldn't be happier. However, I have only used the neo once, and at one course, so I will try to keep the readers of these reviews advised on how it continues to hold up.

UPDATE: JUNE 21,2012 I've played about six times now, at three different courses, and the neo is still working great. I'm really impressed with the battery life. I've gotten four rounds out of one charge and still had battery life left. Each round takes us about 3.5 to 4 hours. I also leave the watch on all the time when not playing( in watch mode). The gps has locked onto whatever course i happen to be at, and the yardages still seem correct. So no complaints so far. I will try to update this review again at the end of the summer.

2.0 out of 5 stars Good watch, lousy support 25 Jun 2012
By MNGolfer - Published on Amazon.com
The watch performs as promised on the golf course. I checked the distances vs. sprinkler heads and my laser about 15-20 times and was never off by more than 2 yds. Advances to the next hole without problems, etc. However, you are required to sync the watch with the Igolf website within 180 days or the watch quits. Problem is, the sync funciton doesn't work. I've spent 6+ hours trying to sync, downloaded the new softward (4 times), latest Java (3 times), tried two different computers, (XP and Windows 7), and two different browsers, all at the direction of igolf and Bushnell. Bottom line-nothing works-it will not sync. I've got 170 days or so before it quits, but it will be returned long before then if they can't get this fixed.

Really? This is the best you can do?

2.0 out of 5 stars beware of bushnell 6 July 2012
By Mr Objective - Published on Amazon.com
The good: the neo+ watch works decently. Its usually accurate within a couple of yards or so, BUT in my first round with it, on my home course, it was off by a LOT on at least one reading (shot was 140, per laser to a center flag, about what I thought - this thing said 161 to center.) I dunno if that's a course map error, or something more systematic, but its not even my primary problem with this item.

They hide all the bad stuff inside the box.
One: you have to pay them ten bucks to make a warranty claim, after you pay to mail the item to them. Not exactly an incentive for them to build quality in.
Two: You are required to sync the watch to them online, or it wont keep working. But to do that you are required to give all your personal info to an outfit called igolf, and register with them. And to register with them you have to agree that they can do whatever they want with your personal data!!!!
Three: The directions for syncing the watch to them are poor, and require you to download and install multiple programs with no digital signature.
Four: No electric outlet plug in charger included, just a usb cord for your pc.

In my book, all of that makes Bushnell sneaky and obnoxious. Also not thrilled that the watch can't get the time right despite a setting that supposedly detects your time zone, but that's the least of my concerns. (It can be overridden manually to set the time, but for 200 bucks you'd think it could tell time without help.)

UPDATE AFTER PART OF A SEASON OF USE: It's almost always accurate, as near as I can tell. Once in a while it throws in an obvious error, which makes me wonder about how often there is a small error, but mostly I think its giving good distances (I'm a low single digit hcp in case you are wondering how well my own judgment of distance allows me to judge the device.) And battery life is better than I expected, it does not need to be charged every round - more like every other round with some to spare. So I have to admit I think its a pretty decent device and I use it all the time (I golf 3-5 times a week), even though the things above make me very unhappy with Bushnell.

UPDATE AFTER FULL SEASON: Junk. It now picks a yardage as soon as I stop moving but if I walk 15 yards to the ball it won't refresh and update, so I usually get wrong distances if I stop moving before I get to the ball. Their biggest competitor's watch works beautifully , even if it has to be charged more often it still easily gets thru a long round. Borrowed one that was a year old for a few rounds, gonna buy one, and use this one for a skeet target.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exceeded expectations 26 Oct 2012

new unit came with new .3 version. No registration necessary, never need to sync it with igolf. Took 5 minutes to figure it all out. Took it to a course with GPS Carts and it was right on the button. Easy to use and figure out. Update: Played 3 rounds, (about 10hrs) battery life still at 40%. Also on some courses if green and next tee are relatively close , must manually advance to next hole.

5.0 out of 5 stars Completely Awesome!!! 13 Jun 2012
By The_BogeyMan_1965 - Published on Amazon.com
Everytime I have used this watch, it has worked perfectly!

My Neo watch picked up GPS signal within 30 seconds the first time I ever used it. Now, it picks it up almost instantly (maybe 10 seconds or so).

I play 4 local courses, and I usually golf about twice a week. The yardages provided by the Neo have been spot on accurate at every course. One particular day, I decided to go ahead and play 36 holes, and I still had 50% battery life showing at the end! Absolutely amazing...

I'll never use another bulky hand-held GPS or laser rangefinder again! The Neo watch makes it so simple: strap it to your wrist and golf!
