5.0 out of 5 stars pretty well made for seriious wildlife filming. 14 Jun 2013

I do a lot of wildlife filming and use the bushnell for hard to get footage. Mostly I try and leave the camera a long way from prying eyes. THe only animal you don't want in the region of your expensive camera trap is the lesser spotted scrote and this gives a bit of re-assurance in that department.. It locks well and you can easily padlock it o a tree. I used a 3 gate latch sticking out the bottom and put a big chain through that. Another good tip is cammo the case with cammo tape. I also hide the case with bits of leaves and moss. TBH its more likely now that I won't be able to re-find my own camera than someone else spotting it :)

Make better videos with your dslr or camcorder search alex sally for clips from the bushnell btw.

seems ok and well made BUT the 10mm master-lock is too thick to get in with the camera .... so buyers.... bear in mind (no pun intended) that the 8mm master-lock cable is needed I sincerely hope that no smaller is required as then it defeats the object of the case.my husband could drill the holes a little bigger but getting the camera in with the 10mm is a struggle.

Strong secure case, snake lock attachable. Bushnell branded tubular lock padlocks. A good purchase for protecting your Bushnell camera trap.

3.0 out of 5 stars It works but the design could be improved 18 Feb 2013
By Lynne P. DeRoach - Published on Amazon.com
I chose this ranking because it will do what it advertised.
It is compatible with the MasterLock viper locks.
It will protect the Black Bushnell trail camera and keep it from being taken.

The security case is poorly designed. It requires that the camera is on and running before you start trying to drop it into the case and tighten or secure the viper lock to the tree. It will be difficult to make a quick visit to the camera to swap memory cards because the cable needs to be pulled from the back before the camera can be lifted out.

A competitor makes a product that simply lifts the front to access the camera and retrieve the card.

3.0 out of 5 stars OK but it is light duty 8 July 2013

A good box but a little more light duty than I expected. We had a deer camera stolen and the thief simply pryed off the lid with a screw driver on the hinge side opposite the lock. Nothing is absolutely fool proof but I would have expected it to be somewhat more heavy duty.
4.0 out of 5 stars Does what it does. 7 Aug 2014

I bought the Bear Safe and a cable lock at the same time. The Bear Safe seems a bit flimsy and based on reviews saying it can easily be pried open from the hinge side of the lid, the cable lock was a must have. My trail cam fit perfectly inside and this thing does exactly what it was intended to do. I took one star off because the lid started to show rust after being mounted outdoors for only about two weeks. For something that is designed to be outside, I'd think Bushnell could come up with a better coating that doesn't rust in matter of days.
2.0 out of 5 stars Buy a different case 14 Aug 2014

I own seven security cases of similar design for my Bushnelll Trail Cameras. This is the only case that requires two locks-one for the case as shown, and a Python cable lock to secure the case around a tree or other support. Also, this case's metal is thinner as compared to my other cases, and I'm concerned about how difficult it would be to pry the case's top off, and remove the camera intact.
There are better security cases on the market for Bushnell Trail Cameras.
1.0 out of 5 stars Cheap quality box for your expensive field camera 9 July 2014
By Eric Moliere - Published on Amazon.com

I had expected much better quality for the price. The sheet metal is easily manipulated even just attaching it to a tree. The lock is probably the very worst aspect because it is of such poor quality. The bigger problem is that the diameter of the holes for the lock are too small for attaching a better lock. I won't purchase this product again.
