I was looking for a good light to replace the 10 LUX dynamo light that came with my bike. After doing some searching I decided to go for the Busch & Muller Cyo T Senso Plus. It had had some good reviews and I liked the idea of having a light that stays on when you are stopped at a junction. This version also has the day time running mode to give better visibility during the day and when it starts to get dark it will turn on the main beam to light up the road.

I used the bike for the first time out on some country roads and I was amazed at the difference. I could very easily see the road ahead and the light has got a good focused beam so that oncoming traffic is not blinded. If you are looking for a good dynamo powered light then this would be a good one to go for.

When I ordered this light the photo on the page was show the RT Senso Plus that is only 40 LUX with the reflector and not the Busch & Muller Cyo T Senso Plus LED Front Light version.

Fitted light, fantastic beam along our local cycle track its like a mini search light, powered by a shimano dynamo wiring it up along with a Busch & Muller Seculite Plus rear light was easy. good value and fast delivery, excellent service.

I love my lights, but I hate charging batteries or having my lights suddenly cut out in the middle of a ride. Before buying this I was using one of these3x CREE XML T6 LED Bicycle Headlight 4 Modes 3800 Lumens + battery + charger which is mad bright, but also a battery hog, so I thought I'd look a dynamos.

I built up a wheel using a Shutter Precision dynamo hub (also highly recommended) and bought this B&M light to go with it. Now, this dynamo light is equal in brightness to my mental-bright cree light but in a slightly different way. The cree lights up EVERYTHING. The path, the trees overhead, the woods either side of me. The Busch puts out less light overall, but puts an equal light only where it's needed: in front of you, right on the path. This is doubly useful, as you're not blinding anyone coming the other way, and it actually makes it easier to see where you're going as the full-on light tends to focus on a single point which is rather distracting.

I live in a rural area and use this on an unlit cycle path along a river, with over-hanging trees. It is very VERY dark, to the point where even if you walked it you would need a torch. The Busch and Muller allows me to happily barrel along at 20mph with no worries at all, especially the dread of the thing cutting out unexpectedly when batteries go dead.

A stand-light means it will stay on at traffic lights, and will last just about long enough to illuminate a puncture repair (although remembere these lights are bolted on to your bike, so you can't easily move them to where you need light)

This is rather an expensive light, but it really is fit and forget. No more pulling your bike out of the shed and realising you left your lights on and the battery is dead. Very highly recommended.

This light is best suited to a town bike, the main beam is just a little short for faster open road riding. Cyo N plus on my other bike is excellent for normal dark road riding by comparison.

Mounting is strong and adaptable - a good feature missing from many of the 'plastic fantastic' models that assume standard fixing points. Wiring is rather light gauge and easily damaged - I'd prefer to see much more robust cabling, including the connector to the hub dynamo (which is Shimano's fault I suspect). I predict that 90% of the issues people have with these are down to the poor connector design which does not prevent water getting at the contacts, where the wire is just stripped and is trapped by simple pressure against the contacts.

B&M have a very good range, though confusingly named. Certainly a quality product that is well designed for the purpose. With a tiny amount more effort to use better connectors and cable, they would be even more recommendable.

The light itself is really worth five stars but I have given it four for two reasons both involving the instructions.
1) The instructions are in such small type that I can barely read them with my glasses on, please print in a larger font.
2) It took me hours to get the light to work, my Shimano Nexus hub has only got a single live terminal, the wire going from the light to the hub has two wires fused together and intertwined. Once I fathomed that out I could separate them and tape up the wire that wasn't the live connection and hey presto-it works. But not before I was on the point of returning the light to Amazon as I thought it was faulty.
However the light is very effective and is worth five stars, good enough to see clearly on unlit roads and the standlight omits a good light when stationary.

I used this to replace the existing dynamo light I had on my Brompton. I had to re-use the existing mount bracket and Shimano hub connector tab, but apart from that fitted perfectly.
It also has the additional connector's required for powering the back light.
