The boys chose this book from the library - and we keep renewing it. Has interesting urbanesque story, well constructed sentences, and great artwork which is gentle on the eye. Wish there were more children's books like this. Works on a fictional literature level - engaging storyline, and on an inspiring ethical level too.
Yes indeed there is one scene (of four illustrations on a page) where the protagonist and her mother are not visibly wearing seat-belts whilst slowly driving the broken down bus. The same page is also absent of road safety signs, road markings, and shows a dog on top of the moving bus roof clearly not on a lead, whilst crossing a major road with no-one wearing high-vis jackets. But we didn't notice that the first eight times that we read it.
