Our beagle was really neglecting her food to the point that we were worried about it affecting her development - regularly eating only half what she should have been - which she'd attempt to "supplement" by hanging around for tidbits and training treats. Since switching to Burns food the change has been great: she finishes the bowl every time in each of her daily sittings, as a result her stools are much firmer and more regular (which any owner will appreciate!), temperamentally she seems improved - all round calmer and more attentive/easier to train, "mad half hour" before bedtime is much less of an issue, better behaved around our eating (although not perfect!) and she seems less prone to anxiety when we're not around.

It's nutritionally a better quality food so, while it's more expensive than many of the brands out there, there's less "filler bulk" so you do need less which is handy when travelling and also means less mess. And ultimately there's no point paying for cheaper food if it's a struggle to get her to eat it.

Highly recommended - she's loved all of the foods from the range: the lamb, chicken, pork and duck.

Our puppy's diet was a bit like a yoyo until we were recommended Burns by the trainer at the training class we attend. Before we'd tried (gradually of course) Iams (ok but nothing to sing and dance about), Bakers (Worst decision ever) and Canigans (hideously expensive but recommended by the 'experts' at the local specialist pet store).
We have a very lively dog anyway (springer cross greyhound mix) but when we changed to Burns it was clear part of his craziness was down to the foods we were feeding him.
More expensive than other brands but totally worth it- his coat is glossy and although his stools could be more solid I'm not complaining! The only think I would say is that he is very lean on it- I've read this on the Burns website reviews too. I know his breed is supposed to be slim but we have to feed him over the suggested amount for his weight and supplement with other things to keep his weight up.

My nine year old Springer was always a bit soft in the poo department. First of the day was just about okay but thereafter it was soft or liquid. Two years ago, I changed to Burns lamb and rice. Since then, my dog has had lovely firm poo every day. I would definitely recommend it for any dog with a sensitive digestive system.

My spaniel has dined on Burns food most of her life. A change to a well known but less expensive brand led to her becoming over weight and sluggish. Burns food keeps my dog healthy, her coat shines and she has bounds of energy. Would always recommend Burns food to other dog owners.

I have been buying Burns food for three years and have switched to Amazon because it is cheaper on line. I have two large breed dogs and Burns was recommended by a dog trainer and behaviourist. From a nutritional point of view it is second to none.

It just looks like desiccated lumps but what do I know? The critters seem to enjoy it. I'm not brave enough to offer it as the only food, but as a mix with wet food it all disappears and offering small amounts of the kibble alone, it disappears. I always have water available, but don't notice this dry food creating inexorable thirst; some do by adding salt.

Have used this and the chicken food and will continue to use both.

We have used Burns for our Labrador Retriever since he was a pup. He started on something else and we moved him onto Burns as I'd done a lot of research and wanted something without too many dodgy ingredients. The protein % could be a bit higher, as there is a decent amount of rice in there, but essentially this is good food for dogs.

He had the puppy chicken and rice and we moved him to adult lamb and rice without any issues, though of course whenever you change a dog's diet it should be done gradually to avoid upset stomachs.

His coat is lovely and everyone comments on how well he looks. I don't think this is a coincidence.

A couple of slight downsides; it is of course slightly more expensive than a lot of other brands, but you don't need to feed your dog quite as much, so it's all relative. Secondly, this food is notorious for keeping dogs slim - for a lot of owners this may be a plus but our Lab, quite out of kilter for the breed, is pretty slim already. We have to give him a bit more than the guideline with other bits and pieces, but he looks very well on it.

Each dog is different and not every one will love a certain food, but I do recommend the Burns brand.
