Burnistoun is an absolutely hilarious Scottish Sketch show from the minds of Robert Florence and Iain Connell. The sketches are a mix of one-offs and recurring characters, but each is hilarious in itself, there's no catchphrase-recycling here. Months after I first saw this show on TV I would find myself chuckling to myself as I remembered one of the sketches or funny lines. This is a classic piece of UK comedy and deserves to be remembered as such.

Burnistoun is the best comedy too come out,of Scotland since Rab C Nesbit and Naked Video TV.Has more of a Irvine Welsh style of cutting edge humor,like the early Fast Show series and Little Britain but gritter and darker.Way funner and better than anything that Chewin The Fat and the Karen Dunbar show has done so far.

Because I live South of the Border I was not aware of this BBC Scotland sketch show. Not sure whether you can accurately compare this with Still Game, as SG was not in fact a sketch show?
Spotted this and noticed that Season 2 was out too, read the reviews and thought I'd give it a try, one particular sketch got a little irattating (ice cream van) but generally the DVD
was worth the money however I'm not going to rush out just yet for Season 2, well not until the price drops.
Still Game's Jack & Victor characters were probably born from "Chewin the fat" and the very funny Karen Dunbar also in CTF did her own sketch show and in addition she has a
great voice and also sings.

The most excellent sketch show...ever.
Nearly two years ago, I watched Burnistoun on a whim, there was nothing on TV, and I had BBCiPlayer on my Nintendo Wii. That was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Read more
