5.0 out of 5 stars They would only allow me to put 5 stars.More should be available for records like this., 23 April 2008

I have never been moved to post a review before but this record must be talked about. It is nothing short of the best record you will hear all year. It has elements of so many styles of music (rock, folk, blues electronica.SAMBA!.) and moves effortlessly between each style to the point that you only notice how much scope its covered after having listened to it.
I was going to list some stand out tracks but to be honest its one of those albums i have to listen to from start to finish without skipping.
Buy this before the sun comes out and listen to nothing else until Ocatober and you would have to try very hard not to have the best summer of your life.

5.0 out of 5 stars refreshing as hell, 4 Mar 2008

i was amazed by this cd and am enjoying it immensely. sargasso trio are an excellent band forged in samba and vocal harmonies but delivering sounds in the genres and instrumentation they fancy (my favourite is their acoustic folk leanings). This CD contains all these fresh sounds and arrangements but with innovative production people expect nowadays. From start to finish you feel its great to hear songs from folks who seem so obviously to be in love with the very idea of creating sound together be it guitars, saucepans or shoes! wide sargasso sea is one of my favourite songs of the last few years, something very special about that track and a good way in to appreciating the skill these three use to conjure up their sounds.
