It's no Subway Art,
By
This review is from: Burners (Paperback)
I agree that this book should've been a whole lot better - design-wise.
Due to the nature of the photos being of subway trains the book needs to have long 'landscape' pages to give you the full picture as it were. However, using flimsy, glossy paper doesn't give the reader the confidence that the book will stay intact forever. The 'notebook' effect is a strange choice to use as it gives the impression that pages can be just easily torn out. Maybe a hardback version would have been better? The content though is very good, just what you'd expect from this Master. You are given the chance to see full pages of graf on old subway trains from the (mostly) early 80's with the pages being folded over so you get a beautiful whole car to look at upon opening the page out. The bottom line is it's a great book but the design is a little flimsy and difficult to handle unless you read it on a large, flat surface.

What a shame...,

This book should simply only come 2ND to the original subway art and it doesn't. The content is acceptable and at times fresh but the flimsy cover and the cheap twisted ring binder (like you find on a notepad) make for a fiddly and corner creasing read. A start would be a hard cover i think.

It is meant to look like a piece book, thats why the book is like it is silly.
