Usher was a big worldwide star for years, but 2004 promoted him to the throne of R&B music and just to prove his title, he broke almost every record imaginable. To have a #1 single for 12 weeks just to replace it with another one, all from a huge album Confessions is a triumph nobody managed before (except for Outkast some months before...).
But (there's always that) I have to say that Burn really burns the charts because of the phenomenal success of Yeah! and not because its worthy of a #1 status. In my opinion, this is simply the weakest single ever released by Usher, miles away from Pop Ya Collar, U Make Me Wanna and such. It just sounds like another unimportant album track (and the album has much more to offer than this song). I wouldn't consider buying this single. But I guess many would disagree.

Nothing really special 2 July 2004
By A Customer - Published on
Format: Audio CD
The second single off the hit platinum-selling album, "Burn", is a smoother, more R&B based track than its predecessor "Yeah". The song itself is very similar to Mario Winans' hit "I Don't Wanna Know", but I feel this is the weaker one of the two. This track has very little variation in it, making it just a bit boring to listen to in my opinion, but Usher's vocals are good as always, and if you're a fan of Usher, you would definitely like this song.

very catchy, melancholy, sweet 8 July 2004

All though "Yeah!" and "Confessions Part II" are both better, I think this softer effort by smash hit artist Usher really connects with me. The song "burns" into my skin, always sinking deeper - I can't forget the song. It's in my head at school, everywhere! I think you should definitely buy this soft, romantic ballard, or buy the album. You will not regret it one bit.

Chilli made a HUGE mistake! 8 Aug 2004
By Jason Alexander - Published on
Format: Audio CD
I cannot believe that Miss Chilli done left Usher. I'm sorry, but she's just plain STOOPID. Usher is super phyne, and I'd give everything I have just to be with him for ONE NIGHT. It's no secret that I am very attracted to him. Ooh, lawd, I just can't get enuff of him. And this single is on FIRE. I just love Usher. He is a big time stud.
