DVD Description

In 2005, before the wise-cracking, lady-killing, beer-swilling Sam Axe landed in Miami to protect the weak alongside his friend: burned spy Michael Westen, he enjoyed a similarly exciting and fulfilling career as an officer in the Navy SEALs. When Sam is caught in bed with an Admiral’s wife, the repercussions are swift: he is put on a transport plane and sent deep into the jungles of Columbia. While Sam’s mission is to “observe and report” on what he’s been told is a violent terrorist army threatening U.S. interests in the area, it doesn’t take long for him to realise that the so-called terrorists are in fact a small group of poorly armed farmers who are resisting being forced off their land. Furthermore, Sam learns that the real threat to peace is coming from a rogue military commander who will stop at nothing to create a regional conflict where one doesn’t exist in order to secure additional military funding from the American government.

Being pursued by the well-armed cadre of soldiers and with little in the way of resources or supplies, Sam must first gain the rebels’ trust before he can train them to defend themselves using whatever weapons (or other materials) they can find. Outgunned and outmanned but determined to protect his new friends from certain death, Sam must rely solely on his wits--and the help of a surprisingly resourceful doctor, a beautiful foreign-aid worker and a tough young female freedom fighter--to protect the band of unassuming rebels and lead them to safety; all the while well aware that his actions may cost him his military commission and possibly his life.

Great film! 16 Oct 2011
Format:DVD
If you like Burn notice, you will definitely enjoy this! It is pretty much exactly like a longer episode of Burn Notice, only focusing on Sam Axe, Michael does make an appearence though Fiona is absent. As this is before Michael got burned this is not surprising. Though it does not take away from the whole Burn Notice feeling on the film. It is witty, funny and very enjoyable while staying true to the feeling and style of Burn Notice. It is great to see more of Sam, and his background, with a good Burn-Noticesque twists and story. It is Sams goofy and lovable character, with great supporting cast that brings the explosions, guns and humour together into a very great film. WATCH IT!

I'm a huge Burn Notice fan and I always thought that the character of Sam Axe was sort of mysterious and cool. In the tele series they never really explained a lot abut him, only that he was an Ex SEAL and loved to drink :P
With this movie they helped make the character better and more vivid as you know and understand the thought process of sam better.
Loved watching the movie, its just in the style of Burn Notice: Action, mixed with comedy and some drama :P
I'd recommend every Burn Notice fan watching it.
Easily 5 stars!

Let's be honest, if your not a fan of Burn Notice, then you probably will have no interest in this movie. BUT if you like Burn Notice then you will love this, simple as that! Sam gets all the laughs on Burn Notice and the same goes here with some classic one liners as to be expected. Loved the tip of the hat to Evil Dead when Sam brandishes the chainsaw. Plus you find out the origin of Sam's alternate ego Chuck Findlay and a neat little cameo as Michael Weston pops up in a bar for some words of advice to Sam. And then of course the neat little wink to camera breaking down the "4th wall" - most amusing.
