3.0 out of 5 stars Psychological thriller, 11 Jan 2004
By Beverley Strong - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Burial of Ghosts (Hardcover)
One of the critics of this book said it best on the dust jacket.."dark and spiky", which sums it up to perfection. Lizzie Bartholomew is a trained social worker who has been involved in a terrifying experience with a mentally disturbed patient with homicidal tendencies and is still suffering from the after shock. She becomes involved with a married man while on holiday and so, indirectly, with a violent murder and a web of deceit and cover-ups. It's very well written but the atmosphere of gloom an mind games was too much for my taste which runs more to straight detective type thrillers.

3.0 out of 5 stars Well written, but gloomy., 9 April 2005
By L. J. Roberts - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Burial of Ghosts (Hardcover)
The character of Lizzie is an interesting one; a social worker, she suffers the aftershock of a violent incident with one of her patients. Yet, dealing with her own internal demons, she feels obligated to Phillip. The story focuses primarily on Lizzie's internal thoughts while carrying out her task. It's very well written but rather gloomy.
