Excellent Handbook 24 Dec 2010
By M/R
This chunky handbook proved to be quite indispensible in helping me setup my first community aquariums all those moons ago, and even though it is a hardback, my copy is very well thumbed. It breaks down information into small, easy to understand sections, covering all the basics and fundamentals including, equipment, water conditions, health problems, and most importantly (at least for me), the fish.

The species guide covers a very good selection of the many species you may encounter in the display tanks of your local fish stockist, and includes a good number of unusual species besides. It helpfully splits the species guide into specific sections and provides a decent summary of the requirements of the fish and their compatibility with tankmates and your aquarium.

This book is well worth adding to your shelf, it contains almost the entire contents of An Interpet Guide to the Healthy Aquarium (Fishkeeper's Guides), so it offers terrific value for money.

A comprehesive guide to tropical fishkeeping 1 Nov 2004
By Daniel Chia - Published on Amazon.com
A very comprehensive and handy 320-page guidebook that covers the various aspects of tropical fishkeeping, including tank selection, heating, lighting, aeration, filtration, aquarium plants, feeding, maintenance, health care and breeding, as well as useful information (diet, water temperature, compatibility, etc.) about more than 250 fishes (including barbs, labyrinth fishes, cichlids, catfishes, loaches, characins and livebearers) with heaps of photographs in colour. An excellent book for the tropical fish enthusiast.
