Having been recommended to buy this book i was not disappointed. It is full of great stories of fantastically brave and heroic people - real life tales, previously unknown but being brought to light here by the author. You can easily dip in and out of this book and it definitely has wide appeal. It is obviously very suitable for boys of all ages but it also wouldn't be out of place on a coffee table in your largest room or on a shelf in your smallest room...
It has Christmas pressie written all over it (not literally) or would be a great addition to any book collection. It offers something a little bit different. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

I bought this book for my 13 year old nephew who is a great fan of all things derring do, be it sport, subterfuge or sabotage - and, I have just finished reading it!! Having dipped into it, I couldn't put it down and have decided that it will now more than fulfil my christmas present buying commitments for several other family members and children of good friends. To my mind this book will enthral from 9 to 90!! I can't wait for volume 2 - it would make present buying for Christmas 2011 a pushover - in stark contrast to the brave achievements that fill this bumper book!

Perfect book for teenagers seeking something more, not to mention an enjoyable read for adults. Why wasn't history taught this way...
