Disappointing.
Sadly, this is the word that probably best sums up this DVD game. When I first saw it, I had to buy it straight away as I'm a fan of the gameshow and was really looking forward to the prospect of playing it at home.

Sadly, it wasn't quite was I was expecting. For me, these were things that let it down:

1. There were no voices of Jim Bowen or Tony Green.

2. A poor attempt at recreating the famous prizeboard round and much loved "Iiiiiiiiiiin One!!" prize commentary (Just wasn't the same without Tony Green's hilarious cringeworthy descriptions!!).

3. The actual throwing of the darts for all the rounds was confusing. The actual aiming mechanism was straight forward, however when you stopped it over the area you wanted, it would end up nowhere near it and this became frustrating after a while.

4. EVERY team gets to play the prize board round (regardless of how many points you've racked up in the "Pounds for Points" round) and therefore can potentially outscore you and beat you to the final "101 or more" round for Bully's Star Prize.

5. The transitions between different bits of the game is a bit slow and so the whole game can take quite a long time to finish.

To give a positive point though, as a stand alone darts quiz game it's actually still quite good fun but is best played with a crowd of friends or family to make it more entertaining.

However, if you're a fan of the gameshow and were, like me, imagining this DVD game to include things like video clips and music from the show taking you into each round, the voices of Jim Bowen and Tony Green and generally all the fun and atmosphere of the real TV show, then you will be disappointed and so I wouldn't recommend buying this game.

Hugely disappointing dvd game. I was much looking forward to playing this on xmas day, but i've shelved it already in an attempt not to ruin my image of the great tv show. Jim Bowen and Tony Green, tv legends for sure, but the guy whose voice is on the dvd game is an idiot, a nobody who does not repeat all of the legendary catchphrases.
The actual aiming of the dart is shoddy, dark blue areas and light blue areas, looks simple but plays very different, my highest score was only 119, and that was followed by a 10, no consistency because of the rubbish aiming system.
The game itself is slow, score updates all the time, ruin it. Bully's prize board has 5 prizes plus bully's special prize, when it shud be 8!
In the final analysis, don't bother with this it'll only ruin your opinion of bullseye, watch the actual legends in action on Challenge, and relive the classic episodes!

No original voices, slow and annoying. This COULD have been a great game if more time and effort had been made with it. Sad let down to what it might have been.

You know from the start this is not going to be the best when it doesn't even use the TV shows intro. Where are tony green and Jim Bowen? They are not on this DVD that's for sure. The games takes ages to go through due the scores appearing everytime and un-needed and frankly poor cutscenes. The Aiming system is pathetic and basically random. Your better off saving your BFH.

Being a big fan of the tv series I was hugely looking forward to playing what I thought would be a great dvd game tie in. However I was sorely disappointed.
Cue a large number of people round on Xmas eve and a buzz of excitement as the dvd was put in. There was a larger buzz of extreme displeasure and a general feeling of let down.
The graphics were appalling, voiceover shocking and the general game play incomprehensibly bad. There was no Jim Bowen, no audience and a dart aiming system that behaved as though a drunk monkey was lining up to throw.
If I haven't put you off so far, then please reconsider. This really is one of the biggest wastes of money I have ever had the misfortune to purchase. Don't do it.
However, if you're looking for alternatives don't choose the Family Fortunes dvd either - that is shocking too.

A HUGELY EMBARRASSING WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY, WITH A CLEAR LACK OF EFFORT ON THE BEHALF OF THE WRITERS.
DO NOT BUY IT.
WE TOOK IT BACK BECAUSE WE THOUGHT THE AIMING FACILITY WAS OUT; TURNS OUT THATS HOW IT SHOULD BE. TOTALLY MISLEADING, SLOW, POOR AND PATHETIC! THE MAKERS SHOULD HAVE INVENTED DVD HOPSCOTCH INSTEAD.

With this pathetically shoddy DVD. No Jim Bowen or Tony Green. A darts aiming facility with no accuracy. Just unbelievably awful in every aspect of the product. My family had looked forward to playing this for a long time and there was no describing the disappointment we suffered at the hands of it. Do yourself a favour and save the money you were going to spend on this, take it down the pub where you can get a proper game of darts. One star is about ten too many for this particular DVD.
