  • Add 3 and 5
  • Match numbers 8 and above
  • Join numbers and let it grow

Product Description

Eights! is a little puzzler based on numbers.
Easy to learn, Hours of fun!.

The game starts by showing you a random set
of numbered tiles spread across its 4×4 board.

Your task is to merge/join the numbers.

5 can only match with a 3 to create an 8.

5 + 3 = 8

any number higher than 5 can match with itself

8 + 8 = 16
16 + 16 = 32

...

Match higher numbers to get your high score.

-------------------------------------

Game mechanics:

In order to merge the tiles you need to push
the tiles to the wall.

Simply swipe using one finger to any four directions
(up, down, left, and right) and all free tiles will
move along. Thus, you may be moving more than one
row or column at a time, and you may trigger
more than one merge in a single action.

After each move, the game will place a new tile in an
empty space left behind by the action.

It is important to remember that the space on the board
is limited, and the game ends when you can no longer move.
Hence, you must manage the free spaces.

I recommend planning for a move that will free two or more
spaces with a single action.

-------------------------------------

simple rules, intuitive gameplay, and difficult to master

This game is fun whilst making you think about your next move. An excellent way to fill a few spare minutes. Becomes quite addictive though!!

4.0 out of 5 stars A lot better than expected. 30 Jun 2014

Works fine on both my devices. A HTC One and Kindle HD.
Once you slide to match a 5 and 3 to make 8 you can use that 8 with another 8 to make 16 you can keep doubling up into the hundreds.
I may have made it sound more complicated than it really is. The hardest part is sliding to accommodate a new cube which is shown to you before making a move. As you don't want to slide in a certain direction which would leave you without any more room for manoeuvre.
The music is a little puerile as is the sound effects. Nothing that can't be fixed in the settings.
Quite a decent puzzle game. For me a keeper.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not responsive 30 Jun 2014

I might have enjoyed this number game if it moved tiles in the direction I wanted.
Having read other reviews I'm deleting this and getting Threes instead.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty straightforward lift from Threes! 30 Jun 2014

If you haven't got Threes! worth downloading as free app of day to get a taste of genre. I marginally prefer the look and feel of the original. There are also various versions of 2048 (mostly free) on the Appstore which is also based on Threes! but has a slightly different mechanic. And for the maths geeks out there, there are a couple of 2048 clones that have you matching consecutive members of the Fibonacci series - fun!

Got this a couple of days ago and have enjoyed it so far. Compulsive and as challenging as you realise the tactics needed to get higher scores. Great timewaster!

4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting app 30 Jun 2014
Verified Purchase
This the first time I've played eights. At first I was doubtful that matching three numbers (3, 5 and 8) could be addictive but I am being converted. All I recommend is that as this the free app of the day you try it - you can always delete it if it's not your thing!
