I have used a number of different Internet Security software packages including Norton and McAfee and I can safely say that this has been the most user friendly and intuitive to operate of the all. It comes complete with instructions booklet which folds out from the cover of the box, installation is straightforward and automatic from when you insert the disc, there is an activation code on a sticker in the box which you will be asked to enter when you first use the programme but on screen prompts make this an easy process.
The software operates in the background, alerting you with a pop-up screen in the corner of the screen to any programmes accessing the internet and asking confirmation with another window when the software is not immediately recognised and automatically trusted. This window contains instructions and buttons to click to allow or disallow the connections and a counter which counts down so the programme will take action if you dont provide direction.
When you click on the desk top icon it brings up a control panel with options which you can select to use including:- Scan for Viruses; Back up Your Data; Allow/Block Programmes; Contact Support; Online Drive; System Status; Check for Updates; Your Bulldog Account and Upgrade. Beneath this are links to click through from this main menu to anti-virus; firewall; spamfilter; backup; support and gaming. The systems status provides recommendations for how to optimise your systems functioning and check for updates notifies you as to when you last updated while the bulldog account indicates days of subscription remaining and scan for viruses provides details of when the last scan was conducted.
The virus scan operates much like any other and provides details of files included, threats discovered and actions recommended if any threats are discovered. I really recommend this package and think that I will resubscribe when my subscription runs out.
