TV splitter 26 Aug 2011
Good, solid quality. However, the picture shows the 'IN' as a femail connector when in fact it is a male. I had to purchase a femail to femail adapter to enable it to connect to the male fly lead. It now works fine.

Lickity Split 13 Jan 2011
Another cog in the general upgrade of my AV system that I've already written about (Philips Connectors). That's was the intention for buying one of these items and, I've got to say, I'm well pleased. I'd previously been using a plastic-bodied 'Y' connector to split the incoming signal between my two main TVs but that was showing clear signs of age, with connectors that only provided an increasingly weak grip on the flyleads. The slightest movement of the cables risked one or both becoming disconnected.

The new all-metal 2 Way Splitter looked and felt reassuringly well made, and provided good snug connections that were resistant to anything less than a determined pull. There's also no noticeable adverse effect on picture quality caused by the signal splitting.

The old 'Y' connector is now in the local landfill site. Its replacement is well worth the minimal outlay required.

I read a previous review by David not sure if got a bad splitter but Ive had this for a few months used for playtv in London and saw only a 2% drop in the signal which resulted in no visible difference for either my tv or playtv. The splitter itself is solid but feels a bit cheap due to the seams not being smoothed, its a no frills splitter.

How to set this up:

Take your male aerial output (what you normally stick into the TV) and plug into the splitter, you can now use an extension cable on each side of the splitter for your TV/PVR/Second TV etc.

*Update*
So I moved recently and came to put my av system back together only to find the cradle on the female input of the splitter was damaged (see picture) it revealed brittle oxidised metal. The other side was still very solid so I believe this is a one off.

In terms of functionality yes it still works but signal drops it between 15-25%. Still good value and recommended, I ordered a new one.

A bargain at the price and can't fault the unit (or the previous one I bought). Socket and plugs make tight, solid connections. Read more

Great splitter with minimal reception loss
This splitter works very well. I like the fact that I can just plug this directly into the DVB tuner card on my pc and then only need one
cable to split the signal to my TV. Read more
