This is a great oven mitt - and I have tried a few out.
It has fantastic grip and is far better than those out there with the thumb section on the side.
It is comfortable, safe, looks really great and is very durable.
The length is good as well because it stops you burning any part of your arm on the grill when you reach inside the over.

Working well with the Aga and extreme temperatures and easier to use than the usual gauntlet. Expensive so hoping they will last a while!

VERY POOR QUALITY - IT MELTS! 26 May 2011
By Argelia - Published on Amazon.com
I recently bought 2 of these because I loved the design. Best looking oven mittens I've ever seen. So here I go & use them & I reach into the oven to grab my oven glass tray & suddenly I smell melted plastic. I put the container down & realize that the 'protective' neoprene of the mitten has melted onto the glass container it made contact with. So now my glass container has a black mark of melted neoprene & my almost new mitten now has an ugly 'bald' patch. So disappointed, aren't these oven mittens? resistant to heat? that neoprene has nothing 'protective' about it. $ gone down the drain. Brand new.

    MELTS! 18 April 2011
By hummel - Published on Amazon.com
I was so excited to get it, but if you get something out of the oven that's really hot, the oven mitt starts to melt. That's why I have to give only 1 star. The design and fit is great, but it doesn't do what it's intended to.

Works, but will start to melt over 400F...! 28 Oct 2012
By Todd March - Published on Amazon.com

This is a decent mitt, and boy, it sure looks WONDERFUL compared to most on the market. I use it outdoors with a high temp propane wok burner, which is hard core for any oven mitt, and at temps over 400F I have had the Neoprene backing start to smooth out and melt. I have also felt a little heat when removing roasting pans from the oven at 500F. This'll work better than most, but it's still not ideal if you are looking for some serous heat protection...

Melts at Normal Oven Temperature 1 July 2011
By Robert Paterson - Published on Amazon.com
These mitts look great, but they melt and give off toxic fumes. I guess you could wear these outside and use them for snowball fights or building igloos. They say that the mitts are resistant up to 500F, but they began to melt at ca. 475F when we were making pizza. They melted when pulling out the metal rack inside the oven. The colored part is even more delicate than the black part and almost melted all the way through when it touched the lower metal rack for 2-3 seconds. These mitts should work at least as good as or even better than traditional, old-fashioned mitts, and they fail miserably. Final verdict: stay away, or you might get burned (literally!).

    Excellent mitt! 7 May 2009

This oven mitt is great because the material is thick enough that no heat gets through when transferring pots or pulling things out of the oven. Plus it looks so nice and isn't too bulky.
