Hailing from the back roads and deep waters of Stirlingshire, Scotland, Endrick Brothers have been drawing comparisons to R.E.M, Wilco and The Jayhawks. Combining honest and charming wordplay with sun drenched melodies and cunning chord changes, the songwriting team of Yorick Cormack (guitar) and Niall Holmes (vocals) find life in the startling instrumentation provided by lead guitarist Donny Little, bassist Kenny McGregor and drummer Matthew Lancaster. Enlisting the skills of up and coming Glasgow producer Chris Gordon, the band recorded these ten songs in a small flat on the city's south side. We were really aiming for a natural sound that wasn't filled with any of the pressures associated with studio recording, says Niall Holmes. We would just head in to Chris' room everyday and see what developed
luckily for us it proved to be the best way to work. The result has already had a four star review in Mojo, other warm reviews in Uncut, the Daily Express and The Independent, while Bob Harris has enthused "this is a really, really great album".
