I enjoyed reading this book, but reading the reviews on Amazon.com (the american sister web site to this one) I would urge anyone to also read the negative comments by some readers so as to help keep things in their right perspective. All I would say on the subject is view the over lavish praise with a slight degree of caution and sceptiscism. Some people love a good read, but whether those who praise this book up to the heavens will then go out and make his suggestions work is another matter. Now this book is a combination of some basic good advice regarding the property market, combined with self help and motivation. There are many guide books to riches on the market, most of them containing positive motivation and broad platitudes about becoming rich, without actually telling you how to do it!! I found Russ Whitneys book a lot more forthcoming than most and some good tips for those who are struggling with their finances as to how to make money in the short and immediate term. For example Russ Whitney gives some excellent advice about letting rooms in ones own house if you need to make regular money in the short and medium term. My only complaint about the book is that maybe he makes it seem just a little too easy, perhaps by skating a little too lightly over some of the necessary logistics in order to make things work. Overall though not a bad read. Its certainly one I would recommend as a motivational book and a starter guide for someone considering some aspects of property as part of a new venture.

There is no question that Russ whitney has made a personal fortune from Real Estate. He gives enough technical detail to convince me he knows what he is talking about and has actually DONE IT himself. Unlike other authors who write about property investment and have authored other books on how to be a expert gardener!! Get my point?
The only critisim is that he brushes very quickly over his early days how he bought his first property with no money! I would have liked it if he could have gone through this crucial stage with far more detail.
Good book, opened my eyes up!

I'm a total newcomer to the world of property development and this book nearly blew my mind. Even though I'm from SCOTLAND I really thought there was a lot in this book and it was well worth the money. It got a bit 'heavy' when it went into dollar detail but my overall impression is that if Russ did it then I CAN. I think that this book should be on every property developer's bookshelf - whether just starting or a seasoned pro - you just gotta learn something from it.

I always wanted to go into real estate but I sat on my dream so long property prices shot up and I thought I'd never do it. As a result of reading Russ's book I bought 8 properties in 18 months. I'm in England so I still had a lot to learn as this book is for the USA Market, still the maths and the encouragement Russ gives helps you to think it through. Its like having a friend with you! Thanks again Russ. Wish you'd come over here!

Building Wealth was the first book about property investing I ever read (over ten years ago) and I won't be giving up my copy! To say the book is 'motivational' seems an understatement: on reading Russ Whitney's book, I just knew property investing was for me.

Ten years later, having been inspired to invest in property, I had not only built a big and very successful property portfolio of my own but have written my own book The Complete Guide to Property Investing Success which I don't claim to have the same inspirational genius, but it is specifically for the UK market today:)

Russ Whitney's book is a terrific start for anyone who needs help to light their internal fire before they see that property investing is the greatest way to Build Wealth!

The book had excellent information. Be careful of his seminars though. People have dropped over $1600.00 with no progress. Thanks!

Russ Whitney explains, in laymen terms, his personal experiences with real estate, such as discounting mortgages and how to gain positive cash flow. Building Wealth provides you with numerous opportunities to help build your real estate portfolio. These techniques really work and should be included in college, unfortunately they're not. A MUST BUY!!
