For anyone who is dreaming - or actually taking part in - of having a narrowboat built, it is a good read!! I didn't realise how many things there would have been to think of!

All that was needed - a few stories along the way.

Having stumbled upon Bruce & Sheila's blog a while ago (full of post 1st time boating enthusiasm) - I've really enjoyed reading through this.

In parts, it's like scanning through a letter from an old friend... by that I mean the writing style is comforting and familiar from the blog but brought together in a more structued way.

We're still 30 months off having enough money to buy our boat but when we get closer, I'm sure I'll be referring back to this. In the the meantime, next on my reading list is Sheila's prose.

Keep up the good work and I hope one day to bump into (although hopefully not literally) you on the cut...what dreams may come.
