Trees and Forest clearly revealed! 15 July 2001
By Gene Holmerud - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Not only are Jesnen and Anderson quick in getting a book published on a such a new product, they have made it very useful.

The manuals and demos included with Kylix are primarily reference books. If you already know the Froest and the shape of the Trees, they help you find the fruit. This book leads you from the planting to the harvesting and explains the pros and cons of alternatives in the process. Many usable samples of applications are provided, most downloadable from the web site.

Yes, 600 pages of dense information seems daunting, but that is due to the awsome capibilities of Kylix. Still, "Building Kylix Applications" remains very readable.

Probably the most telling item on the usefulness of this book is the size of the index: 26 pages. It will get a lot of use!

Where are the five Internet Chapters in Building Kylix Apps? 11 Aug 2001
By "agerman77" - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I recently bought the book by Cary Jensen and Loy Anderson, Building Kylix Applications, expecting specially for a full coverage on the Indy Client / Server and Misc palettes which I didnt see. There are some pages showing how to develop CGI Apps, Working on Apache Web Servers, amongst few others. The book has really a good covering of database applications, component creation and some other things, but, to be honest, about the Internet Coverage, is not half as I expected.
