Considering that this is a 'NEW RELEASE', the contents are somewhat disappointing. The book covers a wide range of topics, but only gives a brief amount of information about each subject. The photos are all black and white, rather dated and for a 2005 book, I would have expected good colour photographs of more up to date items.

Isnt it about time publishers stopped trying to make more money out of reissue of old stuff with a flashy colour cover shot and a few extra paragraphs inserted and the odd extra photo or two?.
Books first published over twenty five years ago with black and white photos and outlining old methods superceded by much more modern materials seem to be common practice and this book looks to be no exception.
What may have been an excellent book in 1978 just doesnt cut it these days as most of us are into modern methods and materials/electronics not nostalgia.

Looked colourfull front page but thats about it, outdated, 1940 style pictures,very disapointed. nearly a waste of money, would I recomend this? NO, Dont judge the book by the cover.
