Very interesting 25 Oct 2006
Format:Paperback
I have a number of boatbuilding books as I am on a boatbuilding course. Gardner's book is the most readable and although it doesn't go into the same level of detail as Chapelle or Steward you can still get a lot of useful information from it. I like it and dip into it from time to time. I highly recommend it to anyone building small wooden craft and to the general reader.

Grumm 16 Jan 2010

This book is far more than I expected. The designs are more classical and not the usual square plywood design.

boat building 3 Oct 2009
Format:Paperback
I just couldn't resist this book of classic boat building. I may never get around to building one of these traditional boats but the wealth of information is very useful even for the amateur boat builder.

Loads of ideas on technique, tools (some homemade and how to make), plans galore and good reading too.

It covers it all.
