My eight year old was given one of these and he is so pleased with it. The box is a little too small but apart from that it's all perfectly formed. It is small numbered plastic stone replica pieces and a "mat" to show where they go and a little easy to understand book about the stones.

This is an excellent little kit or diorama of Stonehenge, perfect for sitting in a corner of a model railway layout. The scale is off, of course, but careful placing can give a false perspective. The set consists of a little glossy 5” x 5½” 32-page colour booklet giving a simple history of the structure, suitable for children; a set of ‘jigsaw’ pieces that slot together to build a grass-green card base representing the ground upon which the structure stands; and a set of heavy resin (?) cast pieces in a grey stone-colour finish which make up the standing (and fallen) stones, which are placed on the card base. They are quite hefty, so will not fall over without good cause. The biggest of the standing pieces – two uprights and a capstone, is just over 1½” tall, so it will be out of scale for most model railway layouts, but it is so delightful, you won’t mind at all.

I have had one of these for a couple of years, it was originally a novelty extra present for Christmas. You get all you that you need and it doesn't take long to assemble. A word of warning though, this is a dust-trap and so it would be advisable to glue the stones onto the cardboard base, also the cardboard does have a tendency to curl at the edges after a period of time.

I have a small collection of Neolithic stone tools that were collected from the Stonehenge area when the surrounding fields were agriculturally productive and this item makes a superb centre piece around which these artefacts can be displayed. Perhaps a future edition could include some of the larger fallen stones to include in the model to go with the 'standing stones'.

As advertised. Cheapest I could find. Be better if few of the fallen stones were added but this is down to manufacturer not seller. Packaged well. V.Happy.
