Although this is unofficial for my 8 yr old boy this was his favourite birthday present. For those competent enough to read basic lego instructions, this book really fuels the lego builders mind. I often find my son just flicking through for ideas and basic build instructions, on which he then develops his own interpretation of it. Just perfect.

Seems to be translated from another language - German maybe? So the instructions are a little stiff. Indeed the whole book is a little stiff - but the authors claim that their dogma is to stick to the original spirit of Lego - use only lego and make, in this case cities. It's a clear systematic book, and if you have all the pieces there's no reason you can't build what is shown. It's a practical no nonsense book rather than creative or inspiring.

could have been written/printed a lot more condensed and the models in this book are very very simple. Just sitting in my cabinet collecting dust I'm afraid

As a huge Lego fan as a youth I brought this for my son, that wants to pursue a career in Lego Design and he's deadly serious about his intentions, passionately focused comes to mind.

Bought two copies for my son [32] and son-in-law [30]. They were both delighted to receive it and we all foresee many quiet days ahead with nothing being done in the way of chores!
Good instructions and guidelines with pleanty of room for innovations. Perfect.
