This book is really good to provide an overview to the subject of cylinder head modifications. The text is quite clear to understand but the book is generally introductory in tone and content. This book will suit a DIY enthusiast and someone wanting a better knowledge base. A trained professional will find this book too "basic" and therefore should consider other options. The book is well ilustrated and has some helpful case studies of popular heads such as pinto, Xflow, A series, Essex V6 and Rover V8.

Good stuff 25 Mar 2009
Format:Paperback
I've always huge respect for Peter Burgess. If your serious about exploring cylinder head efficiency then this book is for you. You have to bare in mind that CH tuning can be a bit of a black art. Certain techniques often yeild results but not always. This book helps you to test your actions.

Very detailed 28 Nov 2009
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I purchased this book to assist me with an assignment in university. It did a very good job in doing so. It had detailed descriptions and images inside of different types of cylinder head and air flow effects (swirl, tumble etc). It also has clear guides on how to make your own flowbench machine and then how to modify ports in step by step guides.

If you're looking for an accurate book on cylinder heads then this is the way to go!
