Product Description

First broadcast on BBC1 in 1995, BUGS follows the investigative adventures of Ed, Ros and Beckett as they track down callous saboteurs and ruthless assassins. Ed (Craig McLachlan) is a helicopter pilot, daredevil climber and martial arts expert; Ros (Jaye Griffiths) is as at home behind the wheel of a skidding car in a high speed chase as in front of a computer screen, and Beckett (Jesse Birdsall) is forever risking his life, whether it be being imprisoned in a flooded submarine, defeating high-tech defence systems and defusing time bombs with seconds on the clock. Their enemies are corrupt politicians, international criminals, renegade scientists, dictators and megalomaniacs of all kinds. 4.0 out of 5 stars Buggy Brilliant!! 1 Mar 2004
What can you say but pure escapist fantasy. Yes every episode opens with something blowing up, the villain is always hoist on his own petard and the final line is ALWAYS a really poor pun but what great fun it is getting there.
Cheesy nonsense like they used to make before everything had to have story arc's and look like it had been shot with a single torch.
Best Episode of Series 1 : Assassins Inc.
Worst Episode of Series 1 : Manna from Heaven.
Extras are poor.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun, feel good series 28 Oct 2011
By Snail
Unlike other people I did not grow up watching Bugs, instead I came across it on youtube after reading about it on the internet and started to watch it.
Yes, the plots are silly and cheesy especially considering its supposed to be set in the future and the technology they are using looks so dated especially by todays standars but that just adds to the fun of it, and there is a strange feel good factor to this series about three independant agents who use gadgets to fight the bad guys. My favourite episode is Shot Gun Wedding.
Lightweight, brainless entertainment at its very best.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding 27 Feb 2004
By A Customer
When Bugs first aired in '95 it was a breath of fresh air, and I was hooked. Years on-to me at least- it still retained much of it's original appeal, and for me beats some of the modern drivel the BBC has been sending out.
To be fair there is some cheese, and the plots aren't overly complicated, but this is a worthy addition to anyone's collection - and hours of entertainment reliving - for some - the glory years.
There are some great moments, and for anyone who likes things that go boom there's pretty much a quality explosion per episode.
Some commentaries would've been nice - but the fact remians it's a quality series, still that breath of fresh air I enjoyed all those years ago, and the words "must have" really don't do the series justice
Hopefully ther BBC will see the light and reduce following series of Bugs soon on DVD.... great stuff!

5.0 out of 5 stars Bugs the best 18 Oct 2009
I relly enjoyed watching Bugs on a Saturday night, from the first time I watched it. I was just going though the TV channels when I came accross it on BBC1. I enjoyed it so much, that I have started a podcast talking about each episode of the program.
