Biography

"If we had an manifesto for this album" says Friendly Fires’ singer and bass-player Ed Macfarlane, "it was a simple one; make an exciting, colourful pop record"

“Our goal is to make vibrant, widescreen songs” adds guitarist Edd Gibson. “but they must retain a spontaneity, have an energy and mysticism around them.”

Product Description

Friendly Fires' contribution to the Bugged Out! Suck My Decks series demonstrates their dance credentials and features a brand new and exclusive Friendly Fires track. It was the start of a mutual appreciation that led to this mix. It’s expertly balanced, a deft combination of rock solid party tracks, such as "City and Industry" by BDI and "Coma Cat" by Tensnake, to the lush reflective sounds of "Lost In The Streets of NYC" (Boris Werner Lost In Malta Remix) by Tom Trago and classic cuts like the Balearic favourite "Din Daa Daa" by George Kranz.

9 of 9 people found the following review helpful By Stan FREDO on 6 Nov. 2010
Format: Audio CD
This is a mostly 2010 electro-house mix, with peaks such as Lindstrom & Christabelle's 'Baby Can't Stop' and Tensnake's hit 'Coma Cat'. It also has the rather ubiquitous George Kranz's 'Din Daa Daa' from way back (1986). As a whole, it is a rather effective and pleasant mix, with a big nod to the 1980s, just as Friendly Fires' album proper (Friendly Fires).

I adore their Late Night Tales, but this mix just doesn't work for me. Probably a good party mix but I find the selection and mixing quite irritating. Sorry guys.
