Great product 26 Jan 2007
I bought this to replace the modem AOL had sent out as I was wanting wireless networking in the house. It was extremely easy to set up. Within 5 minutes I had my PC connected via ethernet cable and my laptop connecting via wireless. At the momeny I've been using it for about 5 hours and the connection hasn't dropped once.

The unit itself is quite small. I've just sat it underneath a desk in an upstairs room. Signal quality seems excellent. The signal strength on the laptop is "excellent" throughout the house and "very good" in the back garden.

Encrypting the wireless was easy to set up. Forwarding ports is also a piece of cake (google for portforward if you need a hand with it).

I was slightly dubious buying this because I hadn't heard much of Buffalo but I can highly recommend this modem/router. Cheap, easy and reliable.

It works with Vista!! 29 May 2007
By Chris
Although I didn't buy mine here, I want to address the earlier comment about Vista. I have this router working perfectly with WPA on a Vista Home Premium laptop. Currently the auto-setup CD doesn't run on Vista, but Buffalo's support team can give you instructions on how to configure it. I've never set one up before, but it works like a charm.
