So small and compact that it fits perfectly in the palm of your hand, with features such as 60% lower power consumption, fanless operation and low noise make the LinkStation™ Mini the ideal storage solution for anywhere in your home.
You can access your files anytime via a Web browser from anywhere! The LinkStation Mini makes streaming audio and visual content to any DLNA player or PC easy with an in-built DLNA CERTIFIED media server and it seamlessly integrates with iTunes which allows you to access your music files on the LinkStation from your iTunes software. The Power Saving feature turns on and off automatically with your computer.
The High-speed processor provides FASTER file transfer rates of up to 40MB/s with enhanced performance. You can have controlled access with group and user level security. The LinkStation Mini supports RAID 0/1 and Standard and you can expand your storage by adding a USB 2.0 hard drive. The LinkStation Mini is available in 500GB and 1TB capacities.

Initially bought the Buffalo LinkStation Mini for backing up data on my home network. Very compact, quiet, and easy to set up. You even forget its there. It also has an automatic switch on the back which enables it to switch off automatically when not in use.
Note that backups with RAID 0 will allow you to use the entire 1TB of storage but RAID 1 will give you 500 GB.
