The Definitive Book on Buddha 30 Jun. 2010
By S. KUMAR - Published on
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
I've read numerous books on Buddha / Buddhism, but no book comes close to this book. When Osho explains about Buddha, it's like listening to Buddha himself. Such is the experience when one reads Osho's books. I think one gets this experience because these words come from a maverick enlightened master who spoke the truth fearlessly. Consciousness is the most important / essential part of life for peace, happiness, health and prosperity. Understanding this will make one open doors for a world of possibilites.

Buddha- the 5 dimensions 12 Nov. 2013
By Anirudh Agarwal - Published on
Amazon Service:

superb. got it in less than 2 days. free of the best parts of amazon that it allows free delivery of order amt < 500 unlike its competitive indian counterpart which doesnt. Hence i chose amazon. the packing was flawless.

About the book:

To break the myth, this book is neither about buddhism as a religion nor buddha as a monk. Its about buddha(the awakened one) as a STATE OF BEING.
the five dimensions to the meaning of "budhi" at the very onset of the book makes for an intriguing self-introspection. In fact these starting few pages are the core essence of the book, which is further elucidated by excerpts from the life of Siddharth Gautam(who reached the STATE of Buddhahood..the enlightened one) in the captivating voice of Osho.

The book aims to uplift your spiritual state(it doesnt teach you to live a monk-life in the mountains as spiritually ignorant fools notion about these genre of books.) Its about REALIZING your true being. Once that is achieved, nothing can stop you from leading a happy and blissful life.
Opportunity knocks our door but we are too ignorant to call it noise and turn away. This is one of those opportunities.

Flat 5 stars!
--superb binding with thick glossy pages.
--comes with a dvd(some osho lecture..but dont misconstrue it is a soft version of the book)
--Flawless print.
--eye-catching pictures on almost every page.
--fascinating elusive content in boxes.

Over-all this is an invaluable decoration to your book-shelf and if imbibed, to your life :)

Stories and more ... 18 Jun. 2012
By Rick Theis - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition with Audio/Video Verified Purchase
Yes, some stories are familiar, some are not, but all are reminders as to who we are, and who this man was who lived so long ago and gave the world so much wisdom in a single lifetime.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book-continue to enjoy it-and would recommend it to anyone: young or old, new to Buddhism or one who has been acquainted with it in a life-long study, Christians, Muslims, Jews, Hindus, and Pagans; anyone and EVERYONE!
Did Osho finish off buddhism? Osho, then Rajneesh's ... 5 Nov. 2015
By John C. Landon - Published on
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
Did Osho finish off buddhism? Osho, then Rajneesh's, declaration that buddhism was involved in the occult fascism of the nazi era probably seeld the death warrant of buddhism, which was a creature of the Axial Age destined to pass away in the new era ignited by modernity. And we have to wonder if the neo-buddhism of Osho can survive the charge made against gurus and their powers of mindcontrol used for purposes other than leading toward enlightenment.
I think that the New Age movement has failed to see the implications of its own modern history and the calamity created by exposing a world religion as involved in fascism.
I think that the religions of the Axial era are doomed to pass away, and that Osho's concoction, while strictly speaking modernist (santana dharma in all age periods), is going to fail to if it can't detach from the buddhist nightmare. People are flooding out of the realm of the buddhas into the diminished but freer realm of mindfulness workshops. The path to enlightenment must be rescued from (neo-)buddhists and placed in a universal context. Osho is second rate behind Gautama. But if the latter's dharma is cancerated, we are left with nothing.
