4.0 out of 5 stars Great songs that set up a great band., 5 Jan 2002
If you're a Blink fan, then there's no excuse not to have this album. These are the songs that they stuck on a CD with Kung Fu Records that then got recognised by MCA records which followed up with their next 4 albums to date. Although their old drummer, Scott Raynor, seems to want to race to the end of the songs as fast as possible and also lacks the structure ability of Travis Barker. Tom's undeniably awesome guitar solos and Marks cheesey punk rock kids riffs make for a good laugh and it's apparent that they were set to become something big. "Carousel" is probabley the best song on this album were good creativity and structure is concerned, but also songs like, "The girl Next Door", and "Toast and Bananas" are fun to sing along to and are also quite well-written. These songs are examples of how these guys started out, what they were origionally, and if you consider yourself to be a true fan of Blink, you must have this. Not only for the sake of owning it, but also to enjoy these great songs that, I personally, still listen to regularly. BUY IT NOW!

4.0 out of 5 stars Buddhalistic - fantastic, 11 Oct 2003

Buddha is the first album of Blink 182. This is a new version, digitally remixed and remastered. Apart from the hit single "Carousel", this album contains the following songs: T.v., Strings, Fentoozler, Time, Romeo & Rebecca, 21 Days, Sometimes, Point of view, My pet Sally, Reebok commercial, Toast & bananas, The girl next door, and Don't. All in all, it is a great cd, proof of Blink's amazing punk rock music in their very beginning. A must have for your collection, whether you are blink 182 fan, or just a punk rock music maniac!

3.0 out of 5 stars What are people on about? its blink but so?, 2 Aug 2003
I can't understand why people are saying this album is great, its good and sounds like blink but the recording is really poor and even though it has been digatally remastered the sound quality still isn't that good.
The vocals of Tom are shoddy and at times make you cover up your ears. Mark does slightly better but not leaps and bounds.
What saves this album from being awful is the fact that the songs are great and if blink performed them now they would sound good.

Carousel and 21 days are my favourite songs and the album is consistant with its standard throughout and you'll find after a few listens you'll be singing along.

The album definately dose't compare with Dude Ranch, Enema of the state or take of your pants and jacket.

This album is worth buying and it isn't awful at all but don't be fooled into thinking its like recent blink material, the band have improved loads and loads. The music on the album is of a poor sound quality but the actual songs are good.
