4.0 out of 5 stars Compact, full of useful tips, 5 April 2010
This review is from: Bucharest (CitySpots) (Paperback)
After booking a long weekend visit to Bucharest I went to buy my usual Berlitz pocket book guide, and on finding there wasn't one I bought this instead. It's the same conveniently small size, full of useful tips and ideas on where to go, along with plenty of colour photos for inspiration. My main criticism is that whilst the maps are accurate their scale seemed slightly off; things appeared closer together on the map than they were so be prepared to walk further than expected.

For a fleeting city break this guide is perfect however it is no substitute for the detailed information a lonely planet style guide gives - if you're there for longer, especially if you're backpacking, then you might do well to invest in something with more detail. However for a general overview with some great ideas of what to do and where to go, this is perfect at a good price!

1.0 out of 5 stars An old edition, 3 Sep 2011
This review is from: Bucharest (CitySpots) (Paperback)
This book is an old edition of the "Bucharest Pocket Guide, 3rd edition (Thomas Cook Pocket Guides)", with which it shares about 80 to 90% of the contents. Consequently, there is no need to buy it as long the 3rd edition is available.
