Weighing less than half a kilo, it can fit comfortably into mum's hand luggage or a child's travel rucksack ready to inflate quickly and easily.
UK law states that every child under the age of 12 and shorter than 135cm must travel with a child seat or booster seat to help avoid serious injury in the event of a traffic collision.
The BubbleBum has been approved under the United Nations ECE Regulation R44/04 for safety for both Groups 2 and 3. It is designed for use with a standard 3 point adult seatbelt that has been approved to ECE Regulation 16 or equivalent.

I had my three-year-old on a Trunki Boostapak and my seven-year-old on a Bubblebum over the last four weeks, while driving in Italy. The Boostapak was sturdy, felt safe and, with its built-in seatbelt adjustor, elicited no complaints from my picky littlest. The Bubblebum is fabulous in as much as it deflates and (with some effort) squeezes into a small pack that goes inside your hand luggage, but I had to use it with a separate seatbelt adjustor because it didn't raise my seven-year-old high enough to keep the seatbelt from cutting into her neck (she's average height), and worst of all my daughter complained tirelessly that it slipped from under her all the time - even when she wasn't wriggling. So, in short, great for emergencies and for short breaks, but not a patch on the Trunki BoostApak Travel Pack Booster Seat, which in my opinion is worth every penny of the extra money it costs.

Having read a number of reviews, I was a little wary about this product. However, it was perfect for a recent trip to Spain. Fitted neatly into hand luggage. Inflated quickly and easily, positioned my son (four years) high enough for the seat belt not to cut into his neck (although an extra inch would have been useful) and he loved it. It didn't deflate over the week and rolled up small for the journey home. I haven't yet tried to get it back into its bag but I don't find this is a problem. I found it a good buy for our family.

Bought 2 of these for my 2 boys aged 5 and nearly 4 for a hire car we had booked for the weekend in Holland, and I would have been much happier if we had just hired booster seats from the car hire company.
We didn't try the kids on them before we left as they looked good enough when blown up. However, once we put the kids in the seats at the airport it very quickly became apparent that they weren't very good. Both boys struggled to stay on the seats as, even with the seat belt through the loops, they move around on the back seat. There was also hardly any height to them, so the boys weren't even raised enough to see out of the car window. Both boys complained that they weren't comfy, and they certainly didn't look it.
When the Bubblebums arrived they were vacuum packed to half the length size of the inflated seat but once you have opened them they roll up to the full length as its not possible to refold it so small. They still fit in the stuff sac as it is very long but they are twice the packed size as appears on the Bubblebum website. This doesn't really matter as they are still easy to put in a rucksack, but might be worth noting if you are tight on hand luggage space.
I have returned the items as I don't think they are safe and Amazon refunded the money with no problem, so I'm very happy with the service from Amazon, its just the product that was disappointing.
