5.0 out of 5 stars 11 and still not out!! Brilliant read., 9 Nov 2008
By Mohamed (Blackburn) - See all my reviews
For fans of the `Stone` series this is a must. The series is still as strong as ever and hasnt lost any of its sparkling action. As far as thrillers go this was very good. the story has plenty of violent action including an old Regiment buddy being tortured with a Black and Decker drill, before being shot in the head....nice! Seriously though the characters were deep and enthralling, keeping your interest all the way through. There was enough suspense to keep you turning the pages, and plenty of action. The series has not lost any sparkle as yet and the plots remain fresh and exciting. If you enjoy Lee Child`s Jack Reacher books then this will please you. I`m a series fan and enjoy Child and Michael Connelly books immensely, if you like Special Forces, terroist kind of thrillers read the 18th Brigade, Blister and the `Soft Target` trilogy of books by Conrad Jones they are Special forces based and are real shockers. They are unputdownable!! The new Chris Ryan book is his best for years too. Back to the review, ten out of ten.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another blinding book., 2 Nov 2008
I bought this book the other day and i started reading it as always with McNab his books spring to life in the first few pages. As for the content it is well worth a read for those budding McNab fans out there that have followed the life and troubles of the famous character Nick Stone. It was well worth the wait and hopefully Stone will continue to be the focal of McNabs books

Awesome

3.0 out of 5 stars McNabb by numbers, 29 Dec 2008
By Marcus G (Birmingham, UK) - See all my reviews
This is the latest in the Nick Stone novels and I have to say it feels a little bit written by numbers - all the essential ingrediants are there but it doesn't quite mesh together into a gripping story. Worse, towards the end of the book, there is a lot of very very short chapters and lots of blank page - don't be fooled by the page count, this is a relatively short book to read.

I'm a huge fan of the Nick Stone novels so I was hoping for much much more.

5.0 out of 5 stars For me his best yet.
I have bought and read all of Mr McNab's books to date and I enjoy them enormously. This one is, in my opinion, his best novel to date because it has more layers of complexity. Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Below PAR for McNab
I thought the plot was quite weak, it featured Nick travelling from Ireland to Norfolk, to Italy and then Libya. The action didn't really deliver until the last 40 pages. Read more
