To be fair to the previous reviewer, this isn't strictly the most accurate alphabet book there is.
However, I have to say that it is absolutely beautiful! It's a masterclass in design.
It's funny, witty, inventive, creative. The fly theme that runs through it requires a creative mind, which I believe children are capable of understanding, especially in conjunction with exposure to more obvious alphabet books/sources.
A great book. Get the Zoo one as well!

Bought this as was looking for an interesting alphabet book that was a bit different.originally published in the 60s, which might explain some odd things illustrated for letters eg a cat in a cage and a creepy looking monkey.the colours are quite dull on some of the pages.so much so that the RED Ribbon is pink,which may be confusing,as are the Flies that appear from F to I.
Disappointed overall with this as wasn't what i was expecting.

The reaction I had when I opened this book for the first time (and as I've checked the reaction that almost everyone has) is basicly rage for not having any uncle giving you this precious book as your four year old gift.
