Product Description

Product Description

This is the dark saga of the ruthless bounty hunter who goes by the name of Brunner. Goblins, vampires, outlaws and even dragons - they're all fair game for this dark hero's blade. Across the length and breadth of the grim Warhammer Old World, Brunner plies his trade, tracking down and killing monsters. But he also faces challenges from within his own dubious profession as a rival hunter stakes a claim to his bounty.

About the Author

C. L. Werner was a diseased servant of the Horned Rat long before his first story in Inferno! magazine. His Black Library credits include the Chaos Wastes books Palace of the Plague Lord and Blood for the Blood God, Mathias Thulmann: Witch Hunter, Runefang and the Brunner the Bounty Hunter trilogy. Currently living in the American south-west, he continues to write stories of mayhem and madness set in the Warhammer World.

OK 26 July 2011
Format:Paperback
I've read a lot of Black Library books, mainly WH40k but a few WH. This does not really pass muster.

It's a collection of short stories that if read separately would be quite good reads but together they get pretty repetitive. Similar starts with a lot of the exact same description of our protagonist. Similar endings, many of which are not tied up. This in itself would be fine but as there are enough stories here you expect that there might be some more threads that carry on through and get picked up later. They are left hanging and there is not enough back-story of Brunner himself to tie things together either other than where he gets his weapons from....

Disappointing after purchasing based on the reviews here.

Bit disappointing... 21 Mar 2011
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
An enjoyable book and worth buying but I would definitely class it towards the lower end of Warhammer/Warhammer 40k books. It's basically a collection of short stories which is good for a casual read perspective but bad in that there is no compelling overall story line. By the end I was reading it to get it over with rather than desperate to get through pages to find out what was going to happen at the finale. There is no way that I could rank this book in the same league as say the Gotrik & Felix novels.

Omnibus 16 May 2010
By Gareth Wilson - Falcata Times Blog TOP 500 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Paperback
Everyone's favourite Warhammer Bounty Hunter returns in this omnibus. What makes this double the fun however is that its Clint's interpretation of the Man with No Name with no personal morals provided that the price is right on his quarry.

Its great value, its got a real antihero whom you'll just love but above all else, the early tales are short offerings that make it a great title to dip into when you want a bit of no nonsense violence. Add to the mix that this title is fun, the tales are entertaining and absolutely no one is above this hunter's sights backed up with a twisted sense of humour and it will not only endear the reader to this authors style but also demonstrates that a hard world breeds harder men. A real cracker.

Like many warhammer 'hero's' Brunner would be a bad guy elsewhere. However he gets the job done, mainly by being even more of a b*stard than his mark. Read more
