It strikes me that the 7th is one of the easier of Bruckner's symphonies to get right (unlike, say, the 6th), so choosing one performance over another comes down to personal preference. While there are recordings that may generate a little more excitement, this one is perfectly fine. I seriously doubt you'd be disappointed with it.
It's an expansive performance, as Barenboim's typically tend towards, solidly played by the BPO with a big, expansive sound.
Starts off a little cool, perhaps, before picking up at the 3rd theme group, then it's smooth sailing from there. The adagio is really quite nicely done, and the scherzo and finale exhibit the same care and attention to detail.
