This book contains similar 'skills' to the 'Wilderness survival' book from the author. It goes into some topics such as pottery, buckskin, bow making and shelter in more detail but possibly not enough detail for each individual topic and it REALLY is taylored to the American market ie) a lot of stuff would be of little use in our climate.
It is a combination of Toms views and a bit of practical guidance. If you want two pages on how you should talk to the tree, ask its permission, re-assure it that its wood will be used respectfully before you cut it down you might like this book.
If you want to learn more advanced 'bushcraft skills' get (or stick with) Tom Brown Jrs field guide to wilderness survival.
If you require greater detail on any of the other topics ie) tracking, brain tanning or bow making I would advise looking to more specialised books on the particular topic.
All said and done, If you want a 'bushcraft book' written from a 'respectfull to nature' and Native American approach with a good insite into some of the skills (and happen to be a Tom Brown Jr fan) then this is a good book. If you just want a book to specifically teach you individual skills in great depth, look elsewhere.
