I had watched the video "Love of my life (An Ode to Hip-Hop)" by Erykah Badu (the most fascinating, educating and creative music video I have ever seen) but it was not until I watched "Brown Sugar" that I really understood its meaning. I am certain that any soul-deep-lover of Hip-Hop will appreciate this movie for its depth and all the Hip-Hop associated metaphors that it contains. The story itself is kind of predictable in many ways, but the movie feels fresh dispite those things. Some of the lines in the movie (sorry for not having any quote but I have only seen it once and cannot remember) touched me very deeply and if you are a fan of Hip-Hop I am sure that it will touch you as well. Give it a chance and watch it, I am sure you will not regret it! Besides... how can you miss Mos Def's acting role? =)

Awesome movie, touched my soul, great symbolism of true love, it happens to focus on hip hop, but what shines through is the love of two people and whether you are into hip-hop or not it cannot fail to pull at your heart strings. Watched it for first time a month ago and still on my mind, so I am gonna buy it so can watch it over and over again :o)
