All these women seem to have in common is their past membership of the elite group of Pixies in the Troughton Brownie pack circa 1975. But as the story unfolds, and the love lives of a trainee vicar and a sex-toy entrepeneur, amongst others, are revealed, we discover these woman have much in common. A wonderful story that had me laughing out loud and welling up with nostalgia.

By A. Luke
Format:Paperback
This was a wonderful intelligent read, with very nicely drawn and developed characters. I was impressed how smoothly Kate Harrison handled the switches between Lucy's first-person narration and the third-person sections from other points of view. All of the characters were believable, loveable or poignant, and the novel seemed all the richer for including so many different interwoven stories.

The plot is pacy and interesting, and the writing easy to read but by no means dumbed down. An excellent holiday read that has a bit more thought to it than generic chick-lit.

Light and Fun! 10 April 2007
Format:Paperback
This was a great fun read. It was bubbly and feel-good. Harrison's writing technique is fluid and compelling. Now that the characters have reached their mid-thirties, they've decided to review their lives and decide how to improve it. And so they turn to all the lessons they learned in Brownies, using the same approach in their modern day lives, with surprisingly pleasant results. Easy to read and uplifting, i would definitely give this ago if you want to review your own life for extra inspiration!
