I bought this to keep the UV off my skin when under the southern hemisphere ozone hole and it does the job just fine. Even on a really hot day it is still cool to wear.
It goes with casual gear or a collar and tie too.
The brim is wide enough to keep the sun off your face and to keep your head dry in rain too.

Good hat
